The great-granddaughter of a world-famous Chinese magician discovers a secret community of horrific and supernatural beings resembling the famous Universal monsters. Through a life and death trial testing her physical and mental limits (and that of her little dog too) she proves herself to be a magical servant, or "Familiar", the group has been looking for to protect them from the outside world of Humans.
